Prepare for Your Ride
A little prep makes for a smoother day on the water. Here's exactly what to bring, what to wear, how check-in works, and the ID you'll need at the dock.
What to bring
- Valid government-issued photo ID (required to ride)
- Your Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC), if you have one
- A towel and a change of clothes
- Sunscreen — water reflection doubles your UV exposure
- A water bottle to stay hydrated
- Optional: a waterproof phone pouch (available as an add-on at the dock)
What to wear
- Swimwear, board shorts, or a rash guard — you will get wet
- Quick-dry fabrics, not cotton (cotton stays heavy and cold)
- No loose clothing, laces, or drawstrings — they can tangle in the intake
- Water shoes or bare feet — sandals fall off at speed
- Polarized sunglasses with a retention strap
- We provide the Coast Guard-approved life jacket — no need to bring one
Your arrival
- Arrive 20–30 minutes before your booking time
- Check in with the dock crew and complete your safety checklist
- Watch the short safety briefing and ask any questions
- A $500 refundable damage hold per machine is taken at check-in
- We'll get you fitted with your life jacket and launched together
Your ID & eligibility
- Operators must be 18 or older with valid government-issued photo ID
- Hold a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)? Bring it — a PCOC is legally required for anyone born after April 1, 1983
- No PCOC? You'll complete a quick Transport Canada Rental Boat Safety Checklist with us at the dock, which permits you to ride for your rental
- The cardholder paying must be present with matching ID
- A 0.00 BAC is required — anyone appearing impaired will not be permitted to ride
